The Charlie Brown Challenge

Friends. Family. People I don't know in Russia. Are you up for a challenge?

I have always loved the Charlie Brown Christmas Special- who doesn't?  Every year the soundtrack is the first Christmas music we listen to (usually on Thanksgiving night, but I caved a couple days early this year, thanks to my Red Cup), and every year since 1998, we have to have a Charlie Brown dance party.  This started spontaneously with my college roommates and has become a tradition with anyone I can convince to join me.  You know this scene, right?

So, all you need to do is pick your favorite character, and dance like them for the duration of the scene. Easy. It looks something like this:

I'm not really sure I can explain this to anyone in Wolfenbüttel.

SO. This is the challenge: Do the Charlie Brown Dance, alone, with friends, whatever . . . take a picture, and e-mail it to me by . . . December 22 . . . and I will feature all of your pictures on this blog (or not, if you'd prefer. Just tell me.) as one big worldwide dancing community.  I want to know that we're not dancing all alone here in Deutschland this Christmas (Ooooh ouch. Can you say no to that?).

Happy dancing!

  2. How did you know? We were just initiating Peter into the Charlie Brown dance this very night at supper! This is a great idea. I'll snap a photo soon and send. xoxo
